La Feliz Guild - (1949)

Since their first fundraiser in 1950, La Feliz has raised more than $1 million to support Children’s Hospital.

This Guild is successful in their fundraising because they arrange memorable, creative, and fun events. La Feliz Guild hosts their annual Derby Down, a Day at the Races – an afternoon of fun that falls on the same day as the Kentucky Derby.

This event is held at the Fresno Fairgrounds horse track, featuring live Bluegrass and Dixieland music, fanciful and elegant hats worn by the female attendees, gift baskets for bidding and an elegant Big Top Dining pavilion adorned with beautiful red roses. Throughout the day, guests can view the Kentucky Derby on big screen televisions and participate in the traditional singing of “My Old Kentucky Home and “God Bless America.”
