The Happy Hearts program began in 2003, in loving memory of Heather Nugent whom was tragically killed in a car accident in October of 2002, just two days before her 18th birthday. The last days of her life were spent in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Children’s. As a memorial to Heather, and in appreciation of the care and kindness that was given to her at Children’s, the Nugent family decided to give something back to the Hospital. Skip, Heather’s grateful father, declared April as Children’s Hospital “Happy Hearts” month at his three grocery stores – Best Buy Markets in Hanford, Visalia and Lemoore and have riased over $600,000 for the PICU at Children's Hospital.
We invite you to come be a part of the festivities!
